Back in early 2001, I was a stay-at-home mum and John was working for a large building company. We were mortgaged to the hilt, with loans and credit cards, struggling to keep our heads above water financially.
One day, John came home from work and threw a book onto my lap. “There’s this guy at work,” he said, “who looks like he’s on his way to being rich. He told me that I need to read this book, but I don’t like reading, so can you read it and tell me what it’s all about?”
After I’d finished rolling my eyes, I opened the book…
…and didn’t look up till I’d finished it.
This was the missing link!
This book told me EXACTLY why I didn’t have any money AND what I could do about it.
“Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert’s story of growing up with two dads — his real father and the father of his best friend, his “rich dad” — and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you.“
This book is the cornerstone of everything we’ve been able to create.
