Dr Alice Kerby has a clinical doctorate in physical therapy (physiotherapy for those in the UK and Australia), and she’s also health consultant, an addiction recovery coach and a resiliency coach.

After studying with the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute, she began to take a really deep dive into understanding how trauma and how chronic stress affects our autonomic nervous system and our physiology.

Trauma patterns and prolonged chronic stress is stored in the body and there are things that we can do to start moving through that and releasing the impact that it’s having on our bodies.

Dr. Alice also works frequently with sober women and women wanting to move away from other maladaptive behaviors, because she realised that there’s a huge link between being disconnected from ourselves that leads to addictive or maladaptive behaviors.

If we’re constantly not feeling great and not knowing how to feel great, it’s often much easier to  reach for a substance, in Alice’s case, alcohol, to try to mitigate stress and anxiety.

Dr Alice Kerby specializes in Somatic Experiencing Trauma Therapy and Resiliency Coaching. She holds a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy and is an expert in movement and working with the nervous system and body to unwind past patterns of trauma and chronic stress.

Dr Alice helps you to gently touch into past trauma patterns that are stored in the body. This leads to restored resiliency in your nervous system, offering a greater ability to make choices from a place of your essential self.

As a sober woman, she is passionate about bringing these tools to women in recovery to facilitate an engaged life that is hallmarked by ease.

She is a budding freelance writer, adventurer, and lover of the natural world. When she isn’t working with clients, you can usually find her hiking through the forest or taking a swim in the sea.
