In Western society, it’s often thought that when we lose someone, we grieve for them and the sadness stays with us for a long time. Being happy while grieving is not something we see a lot of, nor are we comfortable with the idea of it. Our society generally believes that if you truly love someone, you can never heal from that loss.
However, Marie Alessi has a different take on the whole thing. After losing her husband when they were in their early 40’s, Marie chose to grieve in a different way. She now shares her experiences with others, teaches them how to live after loss in a healthy way and shows how it’s possible to experience happiness even after losing someone.
Join Marie Alessi and I in this deeply personal conversation about loss, healing and happiness.
Coach, Speaker, Author
Marie Alessi is a mother to two boys, a bestselling Author, Coach & TEDx Speaker. After her husband passed from a brain aneurysm, she chose Happiness as her North Star. She instinctively knew it was the only path worthy for their young boys. Rob had taught her the concept of two choices – and this one was made in his honour; to continue the Love and connection they had. Marie has become a shining example of choosing Love over fear and sadness.
