Welcome

I’m so glad you’re here! Welcome to Menopause, Marriage and Motherhood, my constantly changing attempt at giving midlife women a place to connect, share stories and information, and support each other.

Here you’ll find information about all the things that happen in midlife: what actually are the symptoms of menopause? How do you deal with them? How do you cope with the kids moving out? What do you do with the rest of your life? How to cope with all the new stresses and hormones and the impact they have on our bodies.

Basically, this is all about answering all the questions about midlife that we just can’t find down-to-earth, relatable and, occasionally, inspiring, information about.

Hopefully, there’s a little bit of all the things you’ve been looking for here!

Enjoy! XOXOX

A Little Bit About Me

Hi, my name is Karen O’Connor, host of the Menopause, Marriage and Motherhood podcast and blog.

What I’m passionate about is sharing the stories, experience and wisdom of midlife women and creating connection and community.

About 4 years ago, after raising four children, I found myself smack bang in the middle of menopause and with zero idea of what to do with my life.

Depressed, lonely and majorly hormonal, I was shamefully convinced that I was the only person who felt this way, as every other woman I knew seemed to have their act together.

But as I began to talk to people, I realised that most women going through midlife experience a similar sort of thing. I also realised that even though menopause is something that 50% of the population will experience, it’s neither understood not discussed enough.

The podcast & blog is my way of doing my bit to change that.
